Real doctor review

Every request is personally reviewed by an EU-registered doctor — nothing is approved automatically, and prescriptions are valid at local pharmacies

Refill requests submitted between 7 am and 11 pm are usually reviewed within 15 minutes when your documentation is clear. Once approved, your prescription is added to your secure Mobi Doctor profile, ready to use at a pharmacy. If you submit overnight, a doctor reviews your request first thing the next morning.

Who Can Refill a Prescription Online?

Anyone on stable, ongoing treatment in one of the 17 European countries Mobi Doctor covers — the same medication, at the same dosage, for a condition that hasn’t changed. It’s right for you if:

  • You are continuing the same medication at the same dosage
  • Your condition hasn’t changed significantly since your last prescription
  • You can upload a valid prescription or a photo of your medication box
  • You don’t need a dosage adjustment or a new treatment

Need something new, or a dosage change? Book a video consultation with an EU-registered doctor instead, or use the Express Prescription service for new, non-emergency health concerns

What Do You Need to Upload?

One of the following is enough, you don’t need both:

  • A recent prescription from any European doctor, written in English
  • A clear photo of your medication box  the original packaging with the pharmacy label containing your full name, and medication details

Whichever you upload must clearly show three things: your full name, the medication name, and the dosage.

Tip: photograph the box in good light, flat on a table, with all edges visible. Unclear documentation is the most common reason refills are delayed or declined.

Can I Refill a Prescription While Travelling in Europe?

Yes. If you’ve run out of medication while travelling — on holiday, on a business trip, or living abroad — you can request a refill online without registering with a local doctor. Upload your prescription or medication box photo, and collect your medication from a local pharmacy once a doctor approves your request.

Running out of medication abroad is stressful: your regular GP is unreachable, you may not speak the local language, and a local appointment can take days. Whether you forgot your medication at home, lost it in transit, or simply ran out mid-trip, a refill request takes minutes — and it works the same for holidaymakers, business travellers, expats and digital nomads.

Mobi Doctor operates in 17 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain , Switzerland.

Which Medications Cannot Be Refilled Online?

Mobi Doctor never refills or prescribes controlled or restricted medications under any circumstances. This protects patients and complies with EU prescribing regulations. Requests for these medications cannot be processed and are not eligible for a refund, so please check before submitting:

How Does an Online Prescription Refill Work?

Refilling a prescription online with Mobi Doctor takes three steps and about three minutes of your time:

  1. Upload your documentation a recent prescription (in English) or a clear photo of your medication box showing your full name, medication and dosage.
  2. Complete a short health questionnaire  around 3 minutes, confirming your condition is stable and your medication and dosage are unchanged.
  3. A doctor reviews and issues your prescription within 15 minutes between 7 am and 11 pm. Approved prescriptions are added to your secure Mobi Doctor profile, ready to use at a pharmacy.

No video call or appointment is required for standard refills an EU-registered doctor still personally reviews every request

Can I Use a Prescription From Another Country?

Yes. Mobi Doctor accepts prescriptions issued in other countries, provided the document is in English, clearly readable, and shows your full name, the medication name and the dosage. If your prescription isn’t in English, uploading a clear photo of your medication box is usually the easier option.

That makes the service practical for expats, cross-border workers and long-stay travellers whose prescriptions were issued at home you can renew your treatment online in any of the 17 countries we cover, whether you live there or are just passing through.

How Fast Is an Online Prescription Refill?

Refill requests submitted between 7 am and 11 pm are usually reviewed within 15 minutes 365 days a year, including weekends and public holidays, when most clinics are closed. Requests submitted overnight are reviewed first thing the next morning. You’ll be notified as soon as the doctor decides, and your approved prescription appears in your secure profile immediately.

Two things keep it fast: clear documentation (blurry photos and missing details are the most common cause of delays) and accurate questionnaire answers, which let the doctor confirm quickly that a refill is safe.

Renew Your Repeat Prescription Online

Managing a repeat prescription shouldn’t require a clinic visit every time your medication runs low. When your treatment is stable, Mobi Doctor gives you a structured way to renew your repeat prescription online: upload your documentation, and a doctor confirms everything is safe to continue. It’s the same clinical check as an in-person renewal without the waiting room.

When Can a Refill Not Be Approved?

A doctor may decline a refill if the documentation is unclear or incomplete, if the medication is controlled or restricted, if your condition appears to have changed, or if a dosage adjustment would be needed anything that makes a refill unsafe without a proper consultation. Answer the questionnaire honestly: it’s what the doctor uses to confirm a refill is safe. If a request is declined and your medication isn’t restricted, the €31 fee is refunded and we’ll point you to the right next step, usually a video consultation.

How Much Does a Prescription Refill Cost Online?

A prescription refill costs €31, paid once when you submit your request no subscriptions, no hidden fees. If you need a signed reimbursement form for private health or travel insurance, you can add one for €10. And if a doctor can’t approve your request for medical reasons (and it doesn’t involve a restricted medication), you receive a refund.
