Airline pregnancy rule changes: a dated log of every correction to the 30-airline dataset, with before and after

Every pregnancy rule in this hub is dated to the day it was read on the airline's page. This log records each correction, before and after: 30 rows re-read on 24 September 2026, 27 corrected, no airline policy change recorded. If your airline's wording has moved, an EU-licensed doctor on Mobi Doctor can supply the letter it now asks for.

Key facts

  • All 30 airline rows were read on the airlines' own pregnancy pages on 24 September 2026.
  • 27 of the 30 rows had at least one value corrected against the airline's page.
  • 25 of the 30 source links used on 5 August 2026 were dead or outdated and were replaced.
  • 19 rows are now fully verified and 11 partly, where the airline publishes some values but not others.
  • No policy change was recorded for easyJet, British Airways, Wizz Air or Turkish Airlines, the four rows verified in both August and September; only Wizz Air's week-32 twins limit and 6-day rule and Turkish Airlines' 10-day rule were added.

The short answer

No airline has yet been recorded changing its pregnancy policy between two readings. What changed on 24 September 2026 was the dataset: 25 rows had carried placeholder values since 5 August 2026, and reading every airline's page corrected 27 rows, replaced 25 dead or outdated links and left 19 rows fully verified and 11 partly. Each entry below is dated and quotes the value before and after.

What changed in the re-read of 24 September 2026?

The dataset went live on 5 August 2026 with four rows checked on the airlines' pages (easyJet, British Airways, Wizz Air and Turkish Airlines), Ryanair checked in part, and 25 rows labelled unverified and filled with the common pattern: a letter from week 28, last week 36 with one baby, 32 with more.

On 24 September 2026 one reader opened all 30 pages. Only TAP's placeholder row survived intact; 17 rows had the letter requirement itself wrong, ten the last week, 15 the multiples week, and 12 gained a letter-age limit. TUI's page renders only with JavaScript and was read in a browser.

Which airline rules were corrected, and to what?

Our value first, then the airline's, grouped by what was wrong:

  • Listed as required; recommended or not needed. Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian and Eurowings recommend a letter from week 28. KLM (last flights in week 35), Air France (avoid travel from week 37), Transavia (multiples to week 34) and AEGEAN ask for none; SAS and Norwegian go by due date.
  • Required from a later week. Qatar Airways, Emirates, Condor (own MEDIF A) and TUI from week 29; Finnair after week 32, only when the flight exceeds 6 hours; LOT with a MEDIF beyond week 32, no maximum week.
  • Last week earlier than the pattern. Jet2, Vueling, Iberia, Aer Lingus, KLM, Austrian and Croatia Airlines stop at 35; twins fall to 31 at Vueling and Iberia but rise to 33 at Jet2; Aer Lingus sets bands by route.
  • A letter age August never recorded. Wizz Air 6 days; Jet2 (plus 16 days of the return), Croatia Airlines and Pegasus 7; Condor, Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways 10; TUI, airBaltic, LOT and Ryanair 14, Ryanair's from its own fit-to-fly form; SAS a month, on a MEDIF.
  • Not published. Nine rows lost a placeholder twins week; Wizz Air's week-32 twins limit was added.

What do the log's four entry types mean?

The log uses four entry types:

  • Verification: a full re-read of every page, one entry per pass; the first is dated 24 September 2026.
  • Correction: our published value corrected against the airline's page; the airline did not necessarily change anything.
  • Policy change: the airline's page changed between two of our readings, before and after quoted. None is recorded yet.
  • Source: the airline moved the page the rule lives on; TAP's entry is one, values confirmed and link replaced.

So Jet2's week 36 → week 35 line corrects our row, not Jet2's policy.

The log

One entry for the full re-read and one per airline whose row or link changed, each with the date the page was read, the entry type, a status summary, the before and after by field, and the current source link.

How often is each airline's page re-read?

At least monthly, and sooner whenever a reader or an airline reports a change through the correction page. Every entry is dated the day the page was read, each airline page prints that verified date beside every rule, and the 30-airline comparison links each row to its source. The JSON feed policy-changes.json carries the same entries under CC BY 4.0, free to reuse with attribution; the open data feed lists the other files.

Why does a dated log matter?

Because booking and flight can sit months apart, and an airline can change a limit or a letter-age rule in between. Each airline page shows when its rules were last verified, so a traveller who booked in August can open this log and see whether anything moved since; a bare updated stamp says a page was touched, not what changed. In this log Jet2, Vueling and Iberia each moved from week 36 to 35, a seven-day shift in the latest possible return.

Two values matter most: the last week you may fly, which decides whether the return is possible, and the letter's maximum age, which decides when to see the doctor. The flying while pregnant date planner applies the current values to your dates.

How do I report an airline pregnancy policy change?

Through the correction page, giving the airline, the link and the wording you saw. A confirmed correction is published within two business days and credited to whoever sent it; airlines can use the same route, and each accepted report becomes a dated entry here and in the JSON feed. A misreading on our side is logged as a correction; a page that has itself changed will produce the first policy-change entry. If the new rule needs paperwork, the fit-to-fly certificate page explains what a doctor on Mobi Doctor can issue.

Frequently asked questions

Has easyJet changed its pregnancy policy in 2026?

Not between our readings. easyJet was verified on the airline's page on 5 August 2026 and again on 24 September 2026, with every value identical on both dates. The page is re-read at least monthly; any change would appear here as a policy-change entry.

Has Ryanair changed its pregnancy policy in 2026?

No change to the weeks between the August and September readings. What was added is the 14-day dating rule, stated on Ryanair's own fit-to-fly form rather than its policy page; with it the row moved from partly to fully verified.

Why did so many rows change on 24 September 2026?

Because 25 of the 30 had never been read on the airline's page and carried the usual pattern, a letter from week 28 and last flights in week 36 or 32, as unverified placeholders. Reading the pages replaced the pattern with each airline's own values.

How do I know the current rule is still right?

Check the verified date on the airline's page, then look here for a later entry naming the airline; a page that has moved gets an entry quoting the old and new wording. Before a boundary-week flight, confirm with the airline in writing.

Can I get an alert when an airline changes its rules?

Not yet; there is no alert service. This log and the JSON feed are the record, dated to the day each page was read. Check the log before you fly, or compare the feed with a copy saved when you booked.

What if my airline's page contradicts itself?

Carry the stricter reading. Three pages do: Pegasus says no report is required yet describes one dated within 7 days; Brussels Airlines' main page says recommended, its FAQ required, beyond week 28; Turkish Airlines' main text says week 28, its FAQ week 27.
